Just a small task of replacing a broken battery pack on a multi-colour LED string of fairy lights. I find little tasks like this quite therapeutic and relaxing. Note that for some sets a resistor is used to limit the current and that must be reused if present.
These lights are a set we use in my mothers bedroom (She has Alzheimer's) to create a gentle colourful glow at night. The battery holder on this set broke, so I fitted one from another set which I'd got just for the LED covers.

Thank you so much for this. I could not figure out how to get the battery holder open. I read a couple of instructions online but they made no sense. When I watched you take off the back of the white battery pack it all became clear.

You don’t do repairs by any chance? I’ve got a set of favourite led lights I went to replace the batteries but they’ve stopped working I think it’s the battery box looks like the contacts are rusty or maybe a battery has leaked – I wish I could get them fixed rather than throw away as lights are fine

You know what would be a therapeutic video? One that shows how to open those little plastic battery boxes to begin with, I can NEVER open them. I think once or twice over the year I have accidentally opened them without know how I did it. I've pressed on this end and pushed. I've pressed on that end and pushed. I can't open those $@@$^&%&% things and inevitably I just rip the top off and use them with either a taped up box or a box that is open.

Can someone PLEASE tell me how to open those #%&#& things?!!!

Hi there, I'm working on a project where I would like to attach a string of Led lights much like the colored lights you have.BUT I don't like that the battery pack is big. I happen to have a pair of plastic glasses with small flashing lights which happens to use tiny disk like batteries. can I exchange the battery pack? do I need to adjust how many batteries it will need ? will this affect how bright the lights are? if my description is confusing , I don't mind making a small video of my supplies and linking it here. or if anyone has seen tutorials on what I'm trying to do can you comment the link below. Thanks to any who will answer 🙂

Thank you for this informative video. If I have several strands of battery operated, copper wire pixie lights, can I wire them all together attaching positive wires together and using just one battery pack? I am also sure just one battery pack would not be enough to power the strands. My usage is for lighting a very full wedding dress. I have 28 strands of lights at 17' each. Each with their own battery pack. Can you please advise.

If you are using it in a bedroom, why not use a Ac to dc power supply? You could easily make a 3v regulated supply for them.

You should put the roses on the colourful lights. It really looks quite nice, I'm sure your mum would love it.
