by popular request, an electrode water heater in distilled water.
The water was distilled in a home water distiller which isn't quite 100% perfect at removing every mineral ion in the water, but it was good enough to see a decent result.
Then I added a bit of salt and things got very violent very quickly.

It makes me feel uneasy when I can hear the buzzing of electricity.
Now use the same amount of salt that Diode Gone Wild used for his first experiment, and all is good :).
Revisiting this video with bone conduction headphones was a really interesting experience.
How did the water taste afterward?
Did it smell bleachy? This is how those hypochlorous acid generators work although they don't get hot enough to boil the water.
And I was impressed by the 600VDC overhead lines for the trolleybuses around here, same as for the metro. I guess a proper full size train needs quite a bit more power, and you can't cheat Ohm's law (either thicker conductors for more amps, expensive; or more volts)
Even more saaaaalt!!!
Same kind of thing happens when you add a bit of salt to a FRH in a MRE. If your FRH isn't doing so well sprinkle in a little salt and watch it go nucular as Eric O would put it
When I started out in the generator industry over 20 years ago we still had a row of 4 tanks at least 5 foot cube each made of steel with a 3 pronged plate electrode that was lowered from an insulated hoist. This formed our load bank for testing generators and 3 or 4 Mega watts of 3 phase at 415V was usual. Salt was added at different strengths per tank to give different load levels. The tank its self was the Neutral or star point and you could put your hand in the water and see how far away from the side you dared move it. The water level was maintained via a side tank with a ball cock in it as lots of steam was produced. Little seen now.
"Even more SAALT, as Diodegonewild would say" 🙂
Is that how the Russian submarine failed badly . Any idea??!!
if he put all the salt in it all it will do is spark n pop
there is another channel that tests one of these to the point of going crazy
