A 1000 microfarad capacitor hooks up with the incorrect polarity at 5 amps power active, the pressure is building 5 amps is passing. The case is deforming and that's what i call a good result.
As schoolboys we used to get old strip lights , take the big capacitors out , wire a 240 to 12v transformer in reverse and connect to the main fuseboard bypassing the wire fuses in the house .
In 10 seconds or so you got an explosion that once sent a metal bucket lid 100 feet into the air and left a 2 foot hole in the lawn .
Also the neighborhood thought the IRA were throwing bombs at the local army barracks .
